In 2008, we will be looking for great crossover country songs for our label artist, Cathy Kent, as well as new songs for our publishing catalog.

Hear the beautiful ballad vocals on "Love Lets You Know," the 'B' side of her new rockin' single, "Ka-Ching!"

CATHY KENT has a rich vocal style that's distinctive and unforgettable. Smooth, but inherently exciting tones and a style uniquely her own, she sings each word of a lyric with meaning and passion. Whether it's the uptempo fire captured in her new single, "Ka-Ching!" or the beautiful and meaninful ballad of "Love Lets You Know," Cathy convinces us that each word is the truth, each feeling true to the bone.

She will be looking for perfectly written songs, full of excitement and style. Since her range is so diverse, she will listen to any crossover material that still fits her stance.

Contest Rules

Please do not send anything commited to any other company or entity.
All songs must be under 5 minutes in length (artist would prefer songs around 3 minutes long).
You may send as many entries as you wish.
$25 entry fee for each song submitted, prefer CD format.
Entry form must accompany each entry.
Be objective in what you send. Really listen, and if there is anything you know you should fix, in the way of lyric or melody, you will have a better chance of having your material being contracted if you perform your corrections before you enter your song.
Use audio CDs for mailed entries; any entry that will not play due to poor quality data CDs or improper formatting will be disqualified.
Contest begins May 1, 2008. All entries must be received no later than midnight, July 31, 2008. Winners announced September 1, 2008.

HINTS: Here are some hints to help you succeed in this songwriting competition: Send "G" rated songs, appropriate for any radio play. Be sure you have posted or included a lyric sheet. Go to I-Tunes and download Cathy's single, "Ka-Ching!" (uptempo) or "Love Let's You Know" (ballad), to see what her vocals and song preference styles are like. She's very lyric and melody conscious, so send your best work. Good luck!
