* * * * *

So far, I have been asked to also screen for other pros who are looking for:

Very hip music supervisor (booked, couldn't be here):
Ambient/trance (CREATIVE) - Similar to Thievery in taste, skill and unique, interesting melody and texture. (hear Thievery sample at):
http://www.rollingstone.com/dds/track.asp?rid=39894&listen

Commercial director (he may make it or not):
Acoustic "testimonial" music -- make me cry, but keep it simple. Think "Deer Hunter" theme, only 30 - 60 second spots.

Latin Rap (I have found two songs, still need more).

NON-GENERIC focus addressing what YOU need, as an individual. Each of you and your needs are different. I will probably have a guest (or two) who also is looking for material. Bring only your BEST work. All styles.

$50.00 per session, please pay in advance to assure your reservation. Class size is limited. If you don't get MORE than your ten-dollars-an-hour's worth, you are not trying!

THIS IS A ONE-TIME, November EVENT, presented for Goodnight Kiss writers and subscribers. Make sure your contact information is on ALL your material, in case I or our guest would like to contact you.

If you cannot attend in person, but want to participate long-distance you may enroll online via the link below, and send a one or two song package, with typed lyric sheet, and a list of specific questions (up to 5) about which you would like to gain information. Be logical – “How do I file a copyright for my song?” is a reasonable Question. “How do I make it in the Music Business” is not.

Your credit card will show a charge to CLICKBANK, not to Goodnight Kiss. It's a secure way to take a service payment -- this is just a reminder as to what will show on your credit card.

CONTEST continues , deadline, DEC. 5, 2002!

OCTOBER-November 2000:

THANKS TO ALL who helped make the SGA WEEK, both career classes AND the end of year show a large success!

The Intellectual Property class was FABULOUS, and I applaud you all for attending and discussing a time-sensitive topic with candor.

The Tribute to George David Weiss on Oct. 30 was one of those magic-music-memory nights that are unique unto themselves, and part of why we do this crazy work we have chosen! Hearty thanks to all the artists who participated (your talent staggers me), the distinguished MCs, and the wonderful appreciative songwriters who
filled that room at the Bel-Age. You are part of a family.

Story Nights are really UNIQUE events, where a famous Songwriter or Composer comes to share their life story. Since this is a relatively new event, they are still intimately held in the Songwriters Guild of America's offices, and the audience is invited to ask any music related questions they may have concerning their own careers. I recently spoke with Dave Kinnoin (a board member and friend), and hopefully Dave will host a story night during this time that we are so busy. (He's a TERRIFFIC host, and I'm thrilled when he is inclined to participate. I'll keep you posted.)

Past guests have included Jack Segal (Scarlet Ribbons, When Sunny Gets Blue, More Love), Vic Mizzy (The Addams Family, Green Acres), Ray Evans and Jay Livingston (Silver Bells, Mona Lisa), Donald Kahn (his own works, as well as Gus Kahn's Estate Works), Gretchen Adamson (Harold Adamson's Estate Works), Randy Sharp (Old Flame, Then What) , Jerry Fuller (Travelin' Man, Young Girl),etc. Most guests have won Academy Awards, Grammies, Tonys, Emmys, etc.

Admission is free. The Songwriters Guild is located in Hollywood, California. (323) 462-1108. This event is hosted every few months. Call the Guild for any updates.
