About the CD
We are sometimes caught dealing in generic phrases like "military action" or "defense plan," and we may forget that good men and women, not words, defend freedom. These people are fathers, aunts, cousins, younger, older, grumpy, funny, quiet and/or loud, just like you and me, except they offer their lives "on demand" to protect ours. This CD is about them and their steadfast courage.

Available for $13.99__

50 cents of every CD retail sale is donated to the Wounded Warriors Hospital Fund.

95% of all their donations go to rehabilitating the troops wounded in war.

Track 2:

Voice Of America

(3:38)

Alex Stangl
(A.Stangl) BMI

about the writer / artist:

Alex Stangl

I could be wrong, but I think I'm the only songwriter on this "Rhythm of Honor" disc that is not an American. I am a Canadian.

Although Canada was not involved with the Iraqi war, I am nonetheless left with nothing less than admiration and awe for the men and women who serve in the American Forces.

I have an uncle, as several close friends, who served in the Canadian Army. Most of their service time was spent in the role of peace keeping in various parts of the world that most of us are familiar with. Just as honourable, and certainly not out of harms way.

I am very honoured that I was one of the songs chosen to be included on the CD.

I've been a songwriter for many years with varying degrees of success. From basement bands to major record label deals, I've had a little taste of it all.

Thanks again to Janet Fisher and Goodnight Kiss for selecting my song for inclusion on this disc. Certainly a noble concept.

Voice Of America

Well we looked high and low, we found the guy in the hole
With whole lot of doe, no it wasn't easy
And the news got around, that the guy had been found
There was a sigh of relief, from a whole lot of people
24/7 we're looking after the details
Just tell us where, we'll be there,
We do it the real way

Ooh, we're the voice of America
Ooh, we're the voice of America

If we go to LA, if we go to New York
And the places between, they're cheering us on
We do it for freedom, the flag we all love
The promise of liberty, leading us strong
24 hours we're taking care of the business
Let us know' we're all ready
Just give us the mission

If they put up a wall, we can tear it down to nothing
If they want to point a gun, they're looking for some trouble
If they're talking bout hate, watch out, that's when we're coming
If they're looking for peace, then we're really on to something

"If they're talkin' 'bout hate,

watch out, that's when we're comin',

But if they're looking
for peace,

Then we're really
onto something!"

Tarey Wolf
(V.Daniel / T.Wolf) BMI/ASCAP

about the writers /artist:

Tarey Wolf
Since the ripe old age of 14, OMA best new artist
award winner Tarey Wolf has been weaving a rich tapestry of self-made songs, with that slow cooking groove and deep message that compels you to tap your feet and follow your heart at the same time.

Tarey's work digs deep into the poetic of her pop and rock roots, producing a hybrid that is at once fresh and familiar.

Vaughan Daniel
hales from Overland Park, KS. and joined the United States Air Force after graduating from Shawnee Mission West high school in Shawnee
Mission, KS. Vaughan served four years as a
telecommunications specialist at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma City, OK. before beginning to pursue his career as a
songwriter. He currently resides in Nashville, TN.

From Vaughan: As a United States AirForce veteran I understand the feeling of pride a soldier has about the job he or she is doing for our country and us. That pride resurfaced when writing "The Military Way" with Tarey Wolf.

The AirForce was my family for four years and I jumped at the chance to write a song about that family and what it's like to be a part of something so powerful.

From

"Military Way Of Life"

"At a moment's notice

we are on the move,

No one has to tell us

We know just what

to do"

My Kind Of Man

My kind of man is rugged and tough
He likes to get dirty and he loves to play rough
My camouflage cowboy all dressed to the nines
Knows when I get lonely, comes around just in time
Everyone knows that he’s my kind of man
And he’ll walk the line

For my kind of man, I’ll wait as long as it takes
‘Cuz he’s high speed, low drag and he’ll weed out the snakes
He’s the first to the rescue and the last to slow up
Rides a horse like a Harley, steers a boat like a
truck
Everyone knows that he’s my kind of man
Never down on his luck

Fort Knox turns out those golden boys
Bliss is paradise
Meade is my hometown buffet
But Stewart sure feels nice
Hood’s got all the answers
You can always lean on Lee
Though I love to Fort Bragg
Benning’s where I’ll be

Well my kind of man knows how to turn up the heat
He can walk fifty miles without missin’ a beat
He’s a legend in the making and a hero out of sight
I keep his picture by my bed so I can sleep through
the night
Everyone knows that he’s my kind of man
And he’s doin’ alright

My kind of man is bound to lead the brigade
From under 20 below to 110 in the shade
Well my ranger is no stranger to the finer things in life
He’s got two kids and a dog and a beautiful wife
Everyone knows that he’s my kind of man
And he’s up for the fight

<Chorus>

I’d fly out to the desert just to bring him apple pie
I’d use my star-spangled manners on the 4th of July
I’d watch the whole World Series, even bet on the Mets
He’s my kind of man
He’s as good as it gets

<Chorus>

"Freedom, A Soldier's Story"

(Verse 1)
I represent the Army, the Navy, the Air-force, Marines, the kings, the queens, the sons and the dreams-

all the fathers and the daughters- the captains and the sergeants-lieutenants of the squadrons the minute in the margins-

the senate and the marksmen-defendants as the targets-  all dependents as descendants diminish in darkness- still about face and march west thru the   harshness-

we know it's hard stress feeling so heartless- but ya'll all blessed-cuz in GOD rest the souls of our best-

the souls of our flesh callin to fall next-yet it's all spec's in reality ya valor ain't value free, no matter how bad they vowed it had to be-

so stand up throw ya hands up-   salute ya company's-platoons-brigades- the blue and-red the white- the stars and strips-   the struggle and the fight for the honor the Right!

(Hook 1)     -This is for the Amy, the Navy, the Air force, Marines- let the people hear you scream-show   your esteem-

we know it seems hard-so we spit ours-by any means- necessary just to stress   the very issue that it's you    -

The Army, Navy, Air-force, Marines and all those soldiers in between throw up ya teams-  we know it seems hard-so we spit ours-by any means necessary just to stress the very issue-   we wit you!

(Verse 2)
We fight for homeland security-soldiers of purity-who put there lives on the line to sever out their duties-I appreciate every thing that you do for me-you making us feel safe in our community-

justice, liberty, freedom is given to me-while you comb the sands-searching   proximity's of evil doers-terroristic pursuers-who challenge our way of life according to rulers-

but these colors don't run in the land of Freedom-United we stand as a nation where one-   Unified on the land, seas and skies-we hold our flag high and wave it with pride-

the red, the   white, the stars, the strips, the blue unites as the coalition strikes-the fire fights till the dawns early lights- this is for the troops that protect Americas rights

(Hook 2)    The Army, the Navy, the Air-force, Marines, and all those soldiers in between throw up ya teams-we know it seems hard so we spit ours by any means-necessary just to stress the very   issue that is you

The Army, Navy, Air-force, Marines, let the people hear you scream-show your esteem-we   know it seems hard-so we spit ours by any means- necessary just to stress the very issue

we with you

That's What He Did

(4:09)

Rick Schilling

about the writers / artist:

KenMorrison &
Rick Schilling

That’s What He Did

My Dad was just a boy when he signed up to go and fight
The war had hardly started, but he was one to do things right
He loved his home and country and he loved the simple life where he lived

He gave a hug to Grandpa and he kissed his Mama bye
He went off to be a soldier and he learned the battle cry
He took his stand with others and death’s angel took his friend but passed him by
Oh thank God he lived
He said a simple prayer and he gave of his life
That’s what he did

CH
Well, I know that God in heaven understands this more than most
He’s seen his share of pain, lost a child like other folks
He knows the price of freedom and he paid it with his loss to give us hope
So we may live
Now we walk with one who died for he gave of his life
That’s what he did

Another time, another town, another boy with a soldier’s face
This time a kid from down the street stood up to set the pace
His uniform was starched and pressed when we laid him in his final resting place
Near where we lived
And we said a simple prayer for he gave of his life
That’s what he did

CH
Well, I know that God in heaven understands this more than most
He’s seen his share of pain, lost a child like other folks
He knows the price of freedom and he paid it with his loss to give us hope
So we may live
Now we walk with one who died for he gave of his life
That’s what he did

Well I was just a boy when my dad went back to fight
And I tried to stand my tallest when we went to meet his flight
We brought his body home and I think about him every single night
And how he lived
And I said a simple prayer for he gave with his life
That’s what he did
That’s what he did

"And I know that God in Heaven,

Understands this more than most,

He's seen His share of pain,

And lost a child like other folks..."

about the writers / artist:

Debra "Reb" Robinson
is a singer, songwriter and fulltime professional musician. She writes, plays and produces material for her own CD's in her studio, as well as jingles for regional radio and TV. She is descended from a long line of patriotic Americans, and is a member of the hereditary society, Daughters Of The American Revolution. Her uncles' were in WW2 and Vietnam, and she has friends involved in the current struggle in Iraq.

Debbie Iammarino
From Debbie:
It was not until after losing my mother, almost 5 years ago, that I start to write again; she had passed just a couple weeks when I was at the cemetary in Cleveland and I witnessed a Military Funeral with a full rifle salute. That experience was so moving to me , by the time I got home that day, I had the full story of Soldier's Daughter in my mind, and shortly after, a full notebook of many lyrical lines that contributed to the song as it is today.

I have always felt that Soldier's Daughter was a gift to me, first, it brought me back into writing again.

I also have many relatives who have served in the Armed services through the years, but, the most special to me is my brother Bobbie, he was in the Marines during the Vietnam war and unfortunatly has been on a full disabilty since he came home.
When I first played Soldier's Daughter for him one afternoon driving around in my jeep, .. I can't explain the humble feeling I had when I watched my brother break into tears the first time he heard it, when I played it that day.

I am very, very proud to be writer on the song.

John Trentes
has been writing songs for 22 years and is the recipient of numerous national and international song contest awards. He performs several times a year at writer's nights in Nashville, TN and has also performed at the world famous Bluebird Cafe. He supports all of our troops especially those in harm's way and is proud of his father who is a Korean War veteran.

Quote from John Trentes, "My father served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.  He actually entered the service at age seventeen with the permission of his mother, who was raising my father and his sister all by herself.  He put himself in harm's way and sent much of his pay home to help his mother with the bills.  What could make a son prouder of his father than that?

Thinking about that leads my thoughts to the fact that he was lucky enough to return home; to become a father and to be privileged to live the rest of his years.  That's a gift that many men and women who serve don't get because they were called upon to give their last full measure of devotion for their country.

Every time I turn on the news and hear about U.S. service men and women losing their lives, I feel the loss, because I wonder If I deserve the sacrifice they made for me.

Lately, I've noticed that the media is getting almost complacent about reporting the war casualties.  I am starting to hear lives being reported as numbers.  That makes me feel emotions that I don't think the English language has words to describe.

Perhaps, in some way, this project will help remind people that behind every casualty statistic is a son, daughter, husband, wife, brother, sister, friend, but most of all, hero.

A SOLDIER'S DAUGHTER

Verse I
Momma kissed her soldier goodbye
Said a prayer as he walked away
Momma, she tried so hard not to cry
As she promised him she'd write him every day
With words to strengthen his soul
And lighten heavy boots along the way
Then one day she told him about me
The baby girl he'd never see

Chorus
I am a soldier' daughter
That's what I'm most proud to be
I am a soldier's daughter
His living legacy

Verse II
Every day she prayed that she would find
His letter sayin' he was comin' home
She dreamed that he'd climb two stairs at a time
And promise her she'd never be alone
Then one day in 1970
Two solemn soldiers met her at the door
With the letter that she prayed she'd never read
"He died for you, he died for me"

Chorus (repeat)

Bridge
Today I kissed his loving name
And through a veil of tears I saw
His soft brown eyes were crying back at me
From that cold black shiny wall

Verse III
Momma saved his letters all for me
My father always had so much to say
And from the tattered pages I can see
The love he sent me from so far away
With words that strengthen my soul
And give me the courage to believe
I wish I could tell him what he means to me
All that I am I owe to his memory

Chorus (repeat 2X)

A Ballad Of Junior

(3:29)

Alton Rex
(A.Rex) BMI

about the writer / artist

Alton Rex
is a nationally touring performing songwriter with several CD's and a DVD available. He resides in Austin, Texas.

'Ballad of Junior' is the true story of what happened to my Uncle Leonard Skierski during WWII. It was a story told at family gatherings and holiday meals from the time I was a very small boy. Uncle Junior was my Mother's eldest brother, and I know they had a very special relationship... one that endured even after he was changed by the vagaries of war.

My father was a career military man, serving 8 years in the Marine Corps and 13 in the USAF. Dad's service included combat tours in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He died on Mother's Day, 1965 after returning from his second tour in Southeast Asia.

I've performed live as part of the Father's Day Rose Remembrance Ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC (2001 & 2002).

I'm also a veteran of the

military, having served an enlisted tour in the United States
Navy as an Avionics Technician.

In 1999, I started to perform free concerts for veterans at VA Hospitals in Texas. After my performance at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC, there were more opportunities to perform at events for Veterans and active duty military folks, and as I toured nationally, I started doing shows at other hospitals.

I'd like to thank employees of the JT3 LLC Corporation, a small NASA & US defense contractor, the Radio America Network, and a number of private citizens in partnership with the VFW Foundation who have stepped forward and sponsored more than forty free concerts at VA Hospitals in 12 states, given away over three thousand EP's to the patients and staff at these facilities.

"A Ballad Of Junior"

Ballad of Junior

One cold grey dawn in Normandy found Junior on the beach
The second morning after the bloodiest of weeks
Walking weary with his best friend held frozen in his arms
Though his buddy had been gone... gone at least a day
Junior couldn't put him down... turn his back and walk away

Chorus:
Momma thought he'd be the same when he came back from the war
But he talks a little less, and drinks a little more

Now Junior too was wounded knocked senseless by the shells
And who can say what Junior saw those two nights in hell
Junior never talks about it though it's been these many years
But there's something in his eyes... and I wouldn't call it fear
A look he has that says out loud, he lived beyond his tears

Chorus:
Momma thought he'd be the same when he came back from the war
But he talks a little less, and drinks a little more

Now it's damn near sixty years since that day in Normandy
When boys were changed to me to men and some died for liberty
they said Junior was a hero but he never felt that way
And when I asked about it, all that he would say
Is the hero's all are buried, half a life and world away

bridge:
Donald was the eldest child of Leonard and Marie
He was my momma's hero come home from Normandy

Chorus:
Momma thought he'd be the same when he came back from the war
But he talks a little less, and drinks a little more

Vaughan Daniel
Since moving to Nashville in 1994, Vaughan has had thirty songs published and four independent artist

From Vaughan: It truly is an awesome feeling that has a price which
is depicted in our song "If Every Second Was Ours", co-written by Curtis Cameron and Brock Goodwin.

The price is often having to leave your loved ones at home, while you're doing your job in a foreign land. I know that side of it, as well. It can be very difficult to maintain relationships, which is even more reason to celebrate the lives of soldiers and the sacrifices they make for us all.

This CD is about Americans and our wonderful country. Rhythm Of Honor is dedicated to the brave men and women that put their lives on line every day so we can be free, go to work every day, send our kids to school, and spend our hard-earned dollars on big screen TVs, computers, and all the other luxuries of living in the U.S. The things we take for granted are nonexistent in countries that are depressed by dictators and communist rule.

I do not believe in war but I most certainly support our people that are the defenders of our freedom. What brave souls they are, without them we are nothing. I did my time in the military and I am proud of it. I did not see any action when I served; I was one of the lucky ones. I know what its like to lose a loved one but have no idea the pain and suffering that there is for those that lose a husband, wife, son, or daughter to the ravages of war. Their pain must be unbearable. Think of those folks who are left behind yet they are still liberated like us because of people willing to risk their lives so that we may live in freedom and prosperity.

Eleven tracks make up this powerful CD. It is full of heart wrenching lyrics that will make you reevaluate your life and bring tears to your eyes. The variety of music is extraordinary, giving all musical tastes a chance to zone in on the meaning of this disc.
