requests for material regarding projects that we have in
Many times the film industry sends us a last minute call for something NOT currently in our catalogue; when that happens, we send an email notice through our newsletter.
Competition in the music and film industries is FIERCE. New writers must realize that their songs are competing with the BEST of what is on the radio... not the WORST... AND the thousands of professional writers who have had cuts and hits are still writing, as well as those with extremely good musical training (and many have excellent inroads and contacts.) New writers must accept this, and be able to compete on these levels if they expect to get cuts.
Competition for songs in film is FIERCE.
Goodnight Kiss and Scene Stealer do NOT place or manage acts or artists, only professionally mastered songs. We work on a single-song contract basis, we do not shop scores or composers, though occasionally use an instrumental song.
Open calls are
listed in the NEWSLETTER.
We also host free contests HERE.
PLEASE NOTE: NO OUTSIDE MATERIAL unless specifically requested by us.
ALL unsolicited mail is discarded.
NEVER send anything
we do not specifically ASK for. Thanks.
If you don't understand WHY this policy exists, please read the article "The Blue Dress."
OK, now that the disclaimers are out of the way, here's the good news.
We do open all of our production calls to outside songwriters and artists. All we ask is that you submit appropriate material.
We never charge a songwriter or artist ANYthing to participate in a project.
We actually pay standard royalty rates for our physical CD sales.
We currently have 51 songs in films or shows currently being broadcast, as well as many other miscellaneous uses. We are a legitimate music publishing company that actively pursues uses for any song signed by us. Since we are members of BMI and ASCAP (and by fallout, associated PROs around the world), all contracts are recorded with them, so when broadcast royalties are earned, they may be monitored and paid correctly.
We use many of our free contests as platforms for new professional projects and products.
We asked for your scary music experiences -- and created our MUSIC HORROR STORIES book.
We asked you for Christmas material -- and created our beautiful AND TO ALL A GOODNIGHT CD.
We asked you for addiction-related material -- and created our impactive ADDICTION CD.
We asked you for submissions for various films, and three of our movie cuts this year came from Goodnight Kiss Newsletter subscribers (the newsletter is free, also).
We sponsor professional articles and contacts to provide a free resource for learning a REALISTIC approach to the business of music.
